Bride Guide & Party Planner

Dressed to thrillWhile Island style is generally geared to the informal and comfortable no matter what the occasion, Vineyard shops - even in the quietest of winter months - stand ready to accommodate all manner of fashion for all sorts of events. Like weddings. From brides to members of the wedding party and guests, women can prepare to dazzle without leaving the Island.
The Supremes: Gayle Rogers, in a two-piece halter-top dress from Caché, and Wiet Bacheller wearing a two-piece, silk ensemble beaded in seed pearls, surround the bride.
It was an afternoon of fun and laughter for our models: retired Tisbury schoolteacher Wiet Bacheller, Martha's Vineyard Times reporter Aubrey Gibavic, who will be married this fall, and former model Gayle Rogers from Las Vegas, who is staying with her mother Cecile Gordon in Oak Bluffs. Each woman with her strong individual style, chose whatever she wanted to model, and found more than enough to tempt her at every stop. By day's end all three had bonded in the shop-till-you-drop adventure, advising, critiquing, and complimenting each other's choices. CK Wolfson is the associate supplements editor at The Martha's Vineyard Times.
